North Point Neuropsychology was built around a simple idea: understanding the brain is only useful if you can do something with that understanding.


Neuroscience can help explain why conversations become defensive, why decisions change under pressure, why teams resist change, why confidence affects performance, and why knowing what to do doesn't always mean we're able to do it.


North Point takes that science beyond textbooks and research articles and brings it into the places where people live, work, lead, communicate, learn, and perform.


Whether that means working with an organization, board, athlete, coach, team, or audience, the purpose remains the same: make neuroscience understandable, practical, and useful.

THE STORY BEHIND THE WORK

It Didn't Start in a Psychology Classroom

I was an athlete before I was a neuropsychologist.


Long before I was studying brain-behavior relationships, teaching psychology, coaching athletes, or standing in front of audiences talking about neuroscience, I was a runner trying to understand performance.


Why could you feel completely locked in one day and fight yourself the next? Why could two athletes with similar physical ability respond completely differently under pressure? Why did confidence seem to change the way someone moved, competed, and made decisions?


I didn't have the neuroscience language for any of that yet. I just knew performance was about more than what the body could do.


That curiosity eventually led me into psychology and neuropsychology. From there, my career took me into VA hospitals and brain injury rehabilitation settings, university classrooms, and eventually into coaching, speaking, and consulting.


Those worlds may look very different. But I kept finding myself asking the same kinds of questions:


Why do people respond the way they do? What changes under pressure? And what can we do differently once we understand what's happening in the brain?


That's the thread I've been following ever since.
